Assault and possible forcible confinement - 10100 block of Whalley Boulevard

Surrey RCMP is currently investigating a report of an assault and possible forcible confinement that occurred yesterday evening in the North Surrey area.
On May 26th at approximately 8:30pm, Surrey RCMP was advised of an assault and a possible forcible confinement in the 10100 block of Whalley Boulevard. Officers attended the scene and located an adult male suffering from injuries who was taken to hospital. The initial investigation has revealed that the incident occurred at a residence in this area and may have involved the victim being held against his will for a period of time. One person is currently in police custody while officers continue to gather evidence and speak to possible witnesses to determine what occurred. The male victim has since been released from hospital with minor injuries.
Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is currently leading this investigation. Early indications are that this was a targeted incident.
