File # 2016-69772
On May 18th at approximately 11:00pm, Surrey RCMP responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 8300 block of 135A Street.
Officers attended and located evidence to support that shots had been fired outside a residence in the area where a group of persons had been gathering. No injuries were reported. A black pickup truck was observed fleeing the scene along with a possible male suspect fleeing the area on foot.
Officers spoke to witnesses and conducted neighbourhood canvassing in the area to obtain further information. The Integrated Police Dog Services (IPDS) was also deployed. Officers have located the black pickup truck unoccupied nearby. The male suspect fleeing on foot is described as a Caucasian male, with a tall and slim build, wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, and possibly a white hat.
The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is a targeted incident. This shots fired incident is not believed to be related to the most recent conflict in Surrey.
