On June 25th, 2017, just after 7:30 pm, The North Vancouver RCMP responded to a report of a collision where a vehicle struck a light standard and bus stop bench at Mount Seymour Parkway and Mount Seymour Road in North Vancouver. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision, leaving it's licence plate laying beside the bench.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

A short time later, police located the vehicle, a 2004 Infinity G35, parked a short distance away. The driver, a 25 year old North Vancouver man, was taken into custody and alcohol is considered to be a causal factor.

Thanks to the assistance from the public, we were able to locate the vehicle and driver shortly after the collision occurred, said Cst. Brett Cunningham of the North Vancouver RCMP Detachment. Fortunately no one was waiting for a bus at the time of the collision. These situations truly outline the dangers of impaired and dangerous driving.
