Law Enforcement Torch Run

On Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 North Vancouver RCMP officers will be participating in the 2017 Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run. At 2:30 PM the local officers are proud to be taking to the street with a group of Special Olympics athletes. Together they will run a six kilometer section into West Vancouver.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an inspirational international movement bringing together law enforcement personnel in support of courageous Special Olympics athletes. The Special Olympics athletes experience life-changing acceptance, empowerment and joy through their participation in sporting programs. Learn more at the Special Olympics website.

Wednesday’s run will leave the North Vancouver RCMP detachment and proceed, under police escort, down West 13th Street, onto West Keith Road and through Marine Drive ending at the West Vancouver Police Dept. There is a reception to follow at Ambleside Park.

The motoring public is thanked for their patience while the Law Enforcement Torch Run momentarily disrupts traffic flow along its route.
