Costly Land Survey Equipment Stolen

A $15,000 piece of land survey equipment was stolen from a parked work vehicle in North Vancouver.

The theft occurred sometime between 2:00 and 3:00 pm on the afternoon of February 2nd, 2017. The insecure vehicle was parked in the alley of the 100-block East 12th Street. Thieves made off with a red plastic box and a grey/green backpack containing the survey equipment.

The stolen land survey instruments are described and pictured as:

The thief may not even be aware of the value of these very specialized pieces of equipment, said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP. They may not know what to do with them now.

Police remind everyone to lock your vehicle at all times even if you are within close proximity to it. It is a criminal offense to purchase or be in possession of stolen property.
