Collision On Highway 1 Takes Driver’s Life

At approximately 3:45 pm on January 9th, 2017 a 63 year-old Vancouver resident was in North Vancouver driving south bound along a portion of Highway 1 which people commonly refer to as the cut. A four vehicle collision occurred resulting in the subsequent tragic death of the Vancouver resident. Minor injuries were received by the other drivers and passengers.

The incident is considered a fatal criminal investigation with the RCMP Port Mann Highway Patrol conducting the ongoing investigation.

Highway traffic was diverted for several hours to facilitate the gathering of investigative evidence by the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).
