Two Males Arrested and Charged with Attempted Murder and Forcible Confinement

Shortly after 1pm on January 10th, 2017, Mission RCMP responded to a report of a residential shooting in the 30,000 block of Dewdney Trunk Road. At scene police attended to the gunshot injuries of a woman, while receiving information of an outstanding woman being held against her will.
The search of a suspect vehicle reported to have fled the scene was conducted with the assistance of Air 1, the Real Time Intelligence Centre, Police Dog Services, Mission RCMP’s Detachment Investigators and Serious Crime Unit.
The suspect vehicle was located and a dynamic takedown was conducted by the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team and the Coquitlam RCMP. During the take down, two male suspects were arrested and taken into custody, while the outstanding woman was located with no reported injuries.
Police were led to a Coquitlam address where a third male was arrested and taken into custody. The residence of the third male was believed to have been the location where the women had been held against her will.
The gunshot victim was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The woman’s condition is stable with no further update.
Charges have been laid against two of the men; 33 year old Joseph Ross RASO and co-accused, 37 year old Thomas Zdravko STRENJA, who remain in police custody and are to appear in court January 12th, 2017. The third man was released from custody with no charges.
Police continue to maintain control of the Mission and Coquitlam properties for further investigation.
