File # 2017-44391

Langley RCMP has recently been made aware of an adult male approaching female students in the area of RE Mountain Secondary. At this point nothing has been reported as ‘criminal’ in his behaviour.

Investigators believe they have identified the male, however to date, he has not been located and interviewed. He is described as East Indian, 21 years old, approximately 5’11 and 160 lbs., he is well-kept and well-dressed and well spoken, and is close / clean shaven.

The male is reported to have offered a ride to students and offered his phone number. The students did not agree and the interaction ended there. The male was seen driving a newer white SUV. Having said that, he may be driving vehicles the police are not aware of.

Students walking to or from school are reminded to walk with friends when possible and be aware of your surroundings. Avoid wearing headphones that may hinder your ability to hear approaching vehicles or people. Although it may sound ‘old-school’ – DON’T TALK TO STRANGERS. If you are approached by someone unknown to you, keep moving towards a well populated area. ALWAYS, report the incident to police.
