File # 2017-37699

Langley RCMP responded to a fatal collision on Highway One on Sunday (October 8th) just prior to 10:00 p.m.

The collision took place in about the 24800 block of Highway One when a westbound Toyota Echo collided with machinery used for highway construction. The driver of the Toyota, a 73 year old Surrey man was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Investigation suggests the Toyota was pulling into a pullout area of the highway and collided with the machinery off the side of the road. Langley Traffic Services assumed conduct of the Investigation and ICARS attended to assist. Police do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the collision.

Next of kin notification has been completed to the deceased’s family.
