File # 2017-21791

Langley RCMP will be recommending charges for a woman arrested for shoplifting on June 22nd.

Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on the 22nd, police were called to a theft in progress at WalMart in Langley.  The female had exited the store with a shopping cart full of items including clothing and meat among other things.

She tried to walk away quickly but staff was able to provide a description to police and she was arrested.  The shopping cart was located and was found to have over $1700 worth of product contained therein.

Fortunately there were several witnesses to the theft and her arrest was swift.

Police located a vehicle believed to be associated to this same suspect and could see it was filled with what appeared to be more stolen property worth approximately $2000. This suspected stolen property was seized and forms part of a separate investigation.

Police checks for this female revealed she is allegedly subject to a recognizance with a condition she not be within 100 m of any Walmart Store.

Police will recommend charges for the 34 year old Langley woman.
