With another hot weekend approaching, Coquitlam RCMP wants to help you have a great experience, stay fire aware, and avoid getting your vehicle ticketed or towed at Buntzen Lake.

Buntzen Lake Reservoir is popular on hot summer weekends and while the parking lot has about 600 spaces those spaces fill up quickly. Once the parking lot is full, street signs will go up in three locations near the lake that warn visitors that there is no more room. It is important to remember that street parking near Buntzen Lake is prohibited. If you arrive early, carpool, ride a bicycle, or take the bus you will have a better chance of enjoying a worry-free day.

Buntzen Lake’s trees and grasses can get very dry in the summer. Only propane barbeques are permitted- no charcoal, briquette barbeques or open fires. There is also a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol. The canoe launch, dock, picnic tables and picnic shelter cannot be reserved and are available for anyone to use on a first come, first served basis.

Buntzen Lake is operated by BC Hydro and for more information you can go to the official BC Hydro Buntzen Lake webpage.
