The application deadline is fast approaching for a chance to help your community as part of the 2017 Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam Community Police Summer Bike Patrol.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 28, 2017, for bike patrol volunteers who want to be an extra set of eyes and ears with a responsibility to observe, record and report anything suspicious.
Successful candidates must be:
- At least 16-years-old;
- Able to pass a bike riding evaluation;
- Able to pass a security background check.
Coquitlam RCMP will provide the bikes but successful applicants will need their own certified bike helmet. The program is supported by the Coquitlam RCMP Detachment, the Cities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, and ICBC.
You can pick up an application at any Coquitlam or Port Coquitlam Community Police Station or the main detachment at 2986 Guilford Way, Coquitlam, BC.
The mandatory bike riding evaluation session will happen on May 6, 2017, between 8:45am and 4:00pm (shortly after the application deadline has passed). For more information, stop by the main detachment or your local community police station.
