Man charged in Aggravated Assault

Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP, working closely with Surrey, Langley, Mission RCMP and Abbotsford Police Department, announce criminal charges have been laid against 37 year old Nathan Frank Laudrum. It is alleged Laudrum assaulted a Maple Ridge man before stealing his truck this past Friday July 14.
On July 14 police were called to a rural property in the 11000 block of 284 St. after a resident was found badly beaten. The victim was taken to hospital with significant, possibly life threatening, injuries.
On Sunday July 16 Surrey RCMP located the victim’s stolen pickup truck on fire in the area of 176 St. and 32 Ave. Police rushed into the area, and with the assistance of the Integrated Police Dog Services, Laudrum was located and arrested.
Corporal Amanda Harnett said,
This case fully illustrates how RCMP detachments and integrated policing, knowing no jurisdictional boundaries, enabled investigators to quickly apprehend this suspect. Evidence located and seized by police have resulted in these charges being approved. Mr. Laudrum now stands charged with aggravated assault, robbery, arson, and four separate counts of possession of stolen property. Charges at this time relate to crimes in Maple Ridge and Surrey.
He appeared in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court this date and has been remanded in custody.
Ridge Meadows RCMP now has conduct of the investigation.
