On April 24, 2017 at approximately 9 pm, Burnaby RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian motor vehicle collision in the 4100-block of Hastings Street. The female pedestrian, a 35-year-old female resident from Burnaby, was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition where she currently remains.

The initial investigation determined that the vehicle was westbound on Hastings Street when the female pedestrian walked out onto the roadway where she was struck. The driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with the police investigation. However, police are still trying to determine exactly what occurred and are asking any witnesses to this incident to contact police.
