33 Year Old Dies in Early Morning Collision

Just after 8 a.m. this morning, October 19th, 2017, Prince George RCMP were called to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision, approximately 15 minutes north of Bear Lake on Highway 97. The caller stated a late model Ford Pickup had rolled several times down an embankment at this location, and the driver was trapped inside.

The 33 year, female driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her identity is not being released to allow proper notification of kin to occur.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by North District Traffic Services with assistance from the BC Coroners Service. At this time, speed is believed to have been a contributing factor.

Highway 97 re-opened at approximately 1:15 p.m, this afternoon.
