UPDATE: Kidnapping and Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested

One man has been arrested and charged in relation to a Kidnapping and Sexual Assault that took place in our community last month.

On Tuesday October 3rd, 2017, the Prince George RCMP arrested a man believed to have been responsible for an early morning Kidnapping and Sexual Assault that occurred in Prince George on September 3rd, 2017.

Sukhjinder SINGH, a 26 year old male residing in Prince George, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences approved by Provincial Crown Counsel:

SINGH made his first appearance in Provincial Court earlier today.

This arrest is the result of a comprehensive investigation that began the moment we received the report states Inspector Shaun Wright, Operations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. The hard work by investigators, supported by forensic evidence and information received from the public, led to the identification and arrest of this suspect.

Investigators are alive to the similarities this incident has to other incidents that have occurred in Prince George this year. Although no arrests or charges have been made, those investigations remain open and are priorities.

The Prince George RCMP would like to remind the public to call 9-1-1 immediately if your safety is at risk or you feel threatened.
