File # 2017-15214
The Prince George RCMP have located and arrested a man wanted for property related offences in our community.
At approximately 7:00 PM on Wednesday June 14th, 2017, Phillip Thompson COOPER was observed on foot near the corner of Victoria Street and 17th Avenue in Prince George. Officers closed in and COOPER attempted to flee, but was captured a short distance away.
COOPER, a 51 year old man that recently relocated to Prince George from Terrace, BC, was wanted for the following Criminal Code offences:
- Theft Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
These charges stem from a May 19th, 2017 incident where police received a report of a suspicious male trying to open vehicle doors on Gorse Street in Prince George. Officers attended, located and arrested COOPER inside an unlocked vehicle that did not belong to him. He was in possession of stolen items believed to be from other vehicles. The incident occurred just after 5:00 AM.
COOPER was held in custody overnight and will appear in Provincial Court later today. Additional charges are likely.
