Suspicious Incident involving Fireworks

Police are requesting the public’s help identifying a man involved in a suspicious incident yesterday afternoon.

On Wednesday April 12th, 2017 at approximately 3:00 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a suspicious occurrence involving a seven year old child.

Officers were advised that a man pulled up to a group of children walking home from the bus stop and gave a seven year old child what he described as a piece of chalk, before driving away. The item turned out to be a firework. The incident occurred just before 3:00 PM near the corner of Meyer Road and Bellamy Road in Prince George.

The man was driving a red van and is described as:

The RCMP are very concerned by this incident. The potential for harm to the child is deeply concerning. Investigators would like to speak to the person that gave this item to the child.
