Search efforts continue to locate missing man, presumed drowned

Golden, BC: On June 30, 2017, shortly after 3:30 pm, Golden RCMP received a report that a man had dove off a bridge over Beaver Creek and had failed to surface. RCMP members immediately initiated a search for the man with assistance from the Golden Search and Rescue.

A Golden Search and Rescue team, utilizing two boats and a dog searched Beaver Creek, Kinbasket Lake, and the shoreline. The search was suspended in the evening and is due to resume today. Members of the E Division Underwater Recovery Team will be attending Golden in the coming days in an effort to locate the 26-year-old man.

Police have been in contact with the man's family and friends. They have been offered support during this difficult time.
