Chauffeur Permits

Those who wish to apply for a Chauffeur’s Permit must attend the Prince George RCMP Detachment. Applicants will undergo a Police Information Check (with a Vulnerable Sector Check) and have to comply with Conditions to Qualify before a Chauffeur’s Permit can be issued.

Applicants must be the holders of a valid and subsisting BC Driver’s Licence which must be a Class 1, 2, 4, or any combination thereof. Proof of legal entitlement to work in Canada (Includes one for the following: Canadian Birth Certificate, Canadian Passport, original Canadian Citizenship documents or Permanent Resident Card) must be shown at the time of application.

No temporary Chauffeur’s Permit will be issued.

The Chauffeur Permit fee is $64.00 and can be paid in exact cash, debit, or credit. It’s the applicant’s responsibility to check on status of the application. If you are renewing your permit please make sure you allow as least 14 days processing time and perhaps longer if you require fingerprints for the vulnerable sector check.
